If you’ve ever used an action camera, you’ll know how easy it is to end up with hours of footage that you never do anything with. If that sounds all too familiar, the new Graava action cam could be just what you need. This smart little camera not only films your activity, but edits the footage to provide you with a short clip of the highlights that you can share without fear of boring your audience to tears.
The Graava action cam uses motion, audio, accelerometer and GPS sensors, as well as voice cues, to pick out the best bits of your footage. All you have to do is select a sountrack and the length of your edit, and the camera will generate a short film for you. If you’re not happy with the end result, you also have the option to select the sections yourself or edit the footage manually.
The camera can shoot three hours of continuous full HD 1080p video at 30 fps (or 720p at 60 fps) per charge, and can also take 4K hyperlapse video and 8 megapixel photos. It’s also water resistant, has wireless charging, and Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Graava has just been made available for pre-order at $249 (eventually going up to $399 when it goes on general sale) with shipping expected to begin in February 2016.
