T-Mobile's G1 is the first Google-phone. Google's Android operating system has been in development for over a year and the G1 has been hotly anticipated.
T-Mobile have just launched the G1 on a new, cheaper tariff. You get the G1 for free with unlimited internet, 700 minutes and 1400 texts for £30 a month. That's much better value than the £30 iPhone tariff that includes a paltry 75 mins and 125 texts. I also expect to see the G1 launch on Pay as you go early in the new year.

The T-Mobile G1 has a similar menu system to the iPhone 3G which you control by touching the screen with your fingers. It has a similar specification to the iPhone with a better resolution, 3.2 megapixel camera, but only 2GB of memory which you can increase to 8GB if you buy a memory card.
Like the iPhone, the G1 features a full web browser with some nifty navigation tools like a maginifying glass that quickly zooms into a section of a webpage to see if you want to zoom in fully. The G1 will not rival the iPhone as a music player, but as a mobile internet device it comes close.
The T-Mobile G1 is the only serious rival to the iPhone and will be the first of many Google phones.
