Editor's Note

The Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 is Blackberry's first clamshell or flip style of phone.  This is the phone for which many email warriors have been waiting. The keyboard is the same SureType combination of a QWERTY keyboard and phone keypad that is used on many other Blackberry devices such as the Pearl 8120.

The Pearl Flip 8220 also features WiFi, although it does lack 3G so don't expect fast internet browsing or downloading of large email attachements if you're not attached to a Wi-Fi network.  A 2 megapixel camera with flash and a media player cover the basics, although most devices at this level would normally sport a 3.2 megapixel camera.

If you want a Blackberry that offers with a more up to date specification I'd recommend checking out their new touchscreen, iPhone challenger the Blackberry Storm or the recently launched Blackberry Bold.
